23 days until 40

My 40th birthday is coming up. In 23 days to be precise, hence the title.

This picture to the right shows you how cool I am. Or was anyway. Replace the Atari with a Commodore 64 and you'll know what my desk in my bedroom looked like 25 years ago.

Yeah, that's a tape drive on the shelf below printer. And I would kill to have those Return of the Jedi glasses back.

New Game

Frisky Dingo came into my lab today and I challenged him to kick a box that had house some odd computer part from the floor onto his head. I figured it would be an easy trick, he's pretty handy with a soccer ball. After three increasingly funny attempts he gave up and when I pointed out where he was going wrong, he kicked the box at me.

Game over...

Work is fun.

Tragedy

I don't like reading about stuff like this. It tears me up inside. But when it's on the front page of the Baltimore Sun, you can't miss it. Then you can not not read it.

Father expected to be charged; family in custody fight

So I read the article. If I were a police officer and I was the first person on this scene:

The bodies were discovered after the man called hotel security about 1:15 p.m. from his 10th-floor room at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards, saying that he had killed his children and was considering harming himself, said Officer Troy Harris, a city police spokesman.

I would've harmed him. Hell who am I kidding? I would have shot him in the fucking head.

What a way to start your week.

Fan Fest

Today Jonathan and I went to the Orioles Fanfest. Every year when baseball ends, actually the way the Orioles have been playing it's been for the last decade it's been around the beginning of August, my love for baseball dies. It doesn't really die it just sort of hides for awhile, my love for baseball and the O's will never die.

When we got to the park and saw the players in their clean bright white uniforms those feelings come rushing back.




We decided to try and wait in line to get some autographs, Brian Roberts in particular but after waiting in line for a half hour and getting through a hot chocolate we gave it up and moved on to see what other cool things we could see and do.


Up in the club level we got to meet the Oriole Bird and have our pic snapped with him.





We had a great time. I don't care who you are there are very few things better in life than sitting in the center field bleachers eating hot dogs and watching baseball with your son, even if it was just batting practice.

Medium

Finally. Finally. Finally. We watched Medium last night, it was a part one of two. Now 95% of the time Brig and/or I figure out what's going on about 20 minutes into the show. It doesn't take away any of our enjoyment of the show but it's a fun little game to see which one can shout out, "I KNOW!".

We have no idea what's going on this week. Is the blonde girl some sicko mastermind? Was the blonde girl even involved in the first case? It was 9 years ago and she still looked like a teenager when they pulled her out of the house. Then on top of that her mother said she had just spoke to her and saw her the day before. BAH! This isn't "Lost", it's not supposed to make me think so much.

Also, there is a new sitcom on called Miss Guided on ABC. I didn't think much going into it but turns out it's a pretty funny little show.
